| On October 6, disaster fell upon Phi Kappa Theta, Chi Omega and Omega Sigma. On the morning of October 6, Dan Irsik, Paul Boyer, and Emily Douglas’s car was broad-sided by a semi outside Maryville, MO. Emily Douglas, a junior at Chi Omega and Omega Sigma, died at the scene. Dan Irsik and Paul Boyer were taken to a nearby hospital in St. Joseph. Unfortunately, two days later, Dan passed away early in the morning from a brain hemorrhage. Thankfully, Paul has recovered very well and is doing well in his pursuits in life. Sadly, neither Emily nor Dan will be returning to us. They were both exceptional individuals whose presence and personalities left an impression on us all. Emily was always hanging out with Dan at the house, as the two were inseparable. Dan was admired for his calm demeanor and his stress-free outlook on life. From his knack for sleeping to his beer-die prowess, the memories of Dan will all be pleasant ones. We dearly miss Dan and Emily, but we trust they’ll live happily ever after in heaven. |
