| Tragedy struck Phi Kaps the summer of 2002, as sophomore Brian Burford died on July 8. He was working on sewer rehab near Des Moines, Iowa when he and a co-worker were overcome with hydrogen sulfide gas and drowned in the sewer water. Brian, although only a sophomore, had already shown his dedication to the house, serving as house secretary and participating in many intramurals and house events. From his infectious laughter to his tenacity in the hockey rink, Brian will be sorely missed. His character and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on all of our hearts. Although Brian is no longer with us, his memory lives on in the funny stories we share. |
